Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a woman found dead near Spanish Banks last month.
The body of a 30- to 40-year-old woman was found floating in the water at Spanish Banks on September 29 at around 9 p.m. by a tug boat crew. Paramedics and Vancouver Fire and Rescue Service attempted to revive the woman, but were unsuccessful.
The woman is described as Black and about 175-200 pounds. She has brown eyes and short black curly hair that was pulled back into a bun, and was wearing a backpack. An orange life vest and a blue inflatable kayak were found nearby.
VPD has released a composite sketch of the woman, showing what she looked like at the time of death. Anyone who recognizes the composite of the woman is asked to call VPD’s Missing Person Unit at 604-717-2533.
