North Vancouver RCMP is inviting the community to join them on a march in the City of North Vancouver to commemorate the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women and Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls.

The march takes place today, Friday, December 6, from 10:15 to 11:30 am. The march will start from the North Shore Alliance Church at 201, 23rd Street East, and will end at the North Vancouver RCMP detachment at 147 East 14th Street.

Those who want to join can meet at the church at 10:15. The march will start at 10:30 am and there will be a remembrance ceremony at 11 am at the detachment.

The vigil is being organised by North Shore Coordinating Committee to End Violence Against Women in Relationships (NS VAWIR Committee) and the Canadian Federation of University Women.

Communities across the country will gather on December 6 to mourn the loss of 14 women killed in a brutal misogynist attack at the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal in 1989.
