“Shake your Body, Shake your body, shake, shake shake”
This original Mom Bop song is sure to get you singing, dancing and bopping!
It was very gratifying to see all Mom Bop Band members, family friends and guests Shake and Bop with us at our premier showcase this past weekend at Amica Edgemont Village.

Our group is speechless with all the community support and collaboration that we have received right from the very beginning.
We had approximately 50 enthusiastic attendees who socially distanced their families in front of Amica Edgemont Village for our respected elders, and it was a great event.
I am still “riding the high”, and can’t believe this all came to fruition so well, considering we are six local moms who work full-time, but still managed to get together three times a week for a month.
We will continue to do so, and this will enable us, MomBop, to tour our local communities and to showcase our performance in conjuction with teaching our choreographed moves to our fans.
We just want our fellow parents to step off the sidelines, and just have fun, to let loose and shake our sillies out during this unprecedented time.
We can still do all of this while being vigilant and socially aware that the new norm will take some time to get used to. Yes, together we can!
I have taught and performed all over the world from Martinique, to Paradise Island, Domican Republic to Grand Caymans with Club Mediterranean, onboard The Norwegian Norway Cruise ship.
I also an cheerleader for the UBC Allstars and was an Acrobatic Cheer Stunt member for The NBA Vancouver Grizzlies with a Bronze Medal in Canada for the Canadian National Aerobic Competition.
But this past showcase here in my City of North Vancouver was like no other, performing again after an 11 year hiatus. Being among my own family, friends and community during this trying time makes it that much more special and most memorable.
We are blown away with the response that we have received and so grateful that we were able to pull this together as MOMS do, execute this performance in turn seeing all the little children and parents let loose, sing, dance and bop to our Mombop Originals.
A huge thank you and shout out to Uwe Eggers, Community Builder at the United Way for reaching out to us and providing us a grant through their Local Love Fund.
We look forward to seeing you at our next Mom Bop Pop up on August 8, from 10:30 am to 11: 15 am at Panorama Park in Deep Cove.
And the sentiment behind MomBop remains the same: Curated by moms, Designed for Kids
