The District of West Vancouver has been informed by VCH that a participant in a fitness class at the Seniors’ Activity Centre (695 21st Street) on November 2 has tested positive for COVID-19.
Vancouver Coastal Health has followed up with the individual and anyone who has been a close contact of this person.
The District said it has health protocols in place that include sanitizing program spaces at district facilities after every class. Out of an abundance of caution, certain areas have received enhanced cleaning overnight.
The Seniors’ Activity Centre will remain open.
“We know that British Columbia is in the second wave of the pandemic and we are taking all necessary precautions. We encourage everyone in our community to take steps to stay safe and healthy and do their part to reduce transmission,” the district said.
