West Van shuts down more public facilities

The facilities will remain closed until further notice

District of West Vancouver will close all district-run public facilities except the municipal hall, the police station, all fire halls, the operations centre and the Capilano View Cemetery.

“Seniors and people with compromised immune systems are the most vulnerable members of our population. By closing these facilities, we hope to slow down and contain the inevitable spread of Coronavirus,” said Mayor Mary-Ann Booth.

The closure comes into effect on Monday, March 16, at 8 p.m. The facilities will remain closed until further notice.

The facilities that will be closed are:

West Vancouver Community Centre

Gleneagles Community Centre

West Vancouver Memorial Library

Seniors’ Activity Centre (except take-out food service available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily)

Aquatic Centre

Ice Arena

Gleneagles Golf Course

Clubhouse at Gleneagles Golf Course

Ambleside Par 3 Golf Course

Ferry Building Gallery

West Vancouver Art Museum

Music Box

Silk Purse Studio & Gallery

West Vancouver Youth Hub at Park Royal
