The District of West Vancouver has issued two alerts for people testing positive for COVID at different facilities.
A participant who attended an outdoor spin class at Gleneagles Community Centre (6262 Marine Drive) on Monday, March 8, tested positive for COVID-19.
Vancouver Coastal Health will follow up with anyone who has been a close contact.
Registered spin classes, however, will continue as scheduled.
The district has health protocols in place that include sanitizing program spaces at District facilities regularly throughout the day.
Out of an abundance of caution, enhanced cleaning took places on spin bikes and certain areas in the Gleneagles Community Centre.
Vancouver Coastal Health has also informed the District of West Vancouver that a participant who attended a gymnastics program at the West Vancouver Community Centre (2121 Marine Drive) also tested positive on Tuesday, March 9.
Vancouver Coastal Health teams are also following up with the individual and anyone who has been a close contact.
The West Vancouver Community Centre gymnastics gym remains open.
“We know that British Columbia is still in the pandemic and we are taking all appropriate precautions. We encourage everyone in our community to take steps to stay safe and healthy and do their part to reduce transmission,” the district said.

First, I love the North Shore Daily Post.
Second, experts say that people who use sports facilities are at risk because they breathe deeper and faster. Sports jocks – male and female – like to take risks. Fine, as long as the rest of us don’t suffer because of their selfishness.
