Staff report
October 27, 2024 3:10pm

West Vancouver Police officers are investigating a pepper spray incident in West Vancouver after an argument among youth escalated into a physical fight.  The incident occurred at the Taylor Way and Marine Drive intersection last week.

West Vancouver police officers responded and found the suspect, who had allegedly used pepper spray during the altercation. The suspect was arrested, and charges of assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose have been recommended. Police continue investigating and have urged anyone with more information to come forward.

Stolen Pickup recovered in Cypress Park

West Vancouver Police have recovered a stolen vehicle in the Cypress Park area after receiving a report of a large pickup truck left abandoned for several days.

Officers responded to the call and confirmed that the vehicle and its license plates matched those reported stolen earlier. Police have seized the truck, which is being processed for return to its registered owner. Police are urging residents to remain alert and report any suspicious or unfamiliar vehicles left unattended in their neighbourhoods as part of ongoing efforts to curb auto theft.
