West Vancouver residents will pay $4.63 more next year as District begins a process of ‘staged introduction’ of recycling program in District of West Vancouver parks.
Council will vote on the increase in an upcoming council meeting. The fees will be in effect in 2023, an increase of $4.63 over the previous year. This is on top of the proposed 2023 Public Realm Refuse Fee of $61.89 which was adopted by Council on July 25 this year to fund existing public realm collection programs.
The additional $4.63 is to cover the implementation and operating cost of a new service that council directed staff to introduce in 2023. This new service is a recycling program in District of West Vancouver destination waterfront parks beginning in 2023.
The service will be introduced in Millennium Park to Dundarave Park, Horseshoe Bay Park and Whytecliff Park, and Ambleside Park are the three parks. District will install new, dedicated receptacles for collecting recycling and compost in these parks.
