West Vancouver residents will have their say on proposed changes to the District’s zoning and land-use rules when Council convenes a public hearing next Monday, March 30, at 5 p.m.
In a notice, the District announced the March 30 hearing at Municipal Hall Council Chamber, 750 17th Street, with a virtual option available via Zoom. Two bylaws are on the table: an Official Community Plan amendment to fix numbering errors in guidelines for the “Whitby Estates” and “Clyde Avenue Area East of Taylor Way” development permit areas, and a broader Zoning Bylaw amendment affecting all District lands.

According to the notice, the zoning changes would offer greater flexibility for non-habitable attics, heat pumps, power pole installation, accessory buildings, and ferry terminal infrastructure — while also correcting errors and tightening inconsistencies throughout the bylaw.
Residents can speak in person for up to five minutes, join via Zoom by calling 604-925-7004 on the day of the hearing, or submit written comments to correspondence@westvancouver.ca. The notice mentioned that all written submissions must arrive by noon on March 30 to be included in the Council’s review package.
The hearing will also be livestreamed on the District’s YouTube channel. Supporting documents are available at westvancouver.ca/news/notices or at Municipal Hall during business hours through March 30.
