North Vancouver RCMP are appealing to the public for information after a hit-and-run collision involving a pedestrian in a wheelchair.
The incident occurred on Feb. 5, at approximately 8:07 p.m. at the intersection of West 3rd Street and Bewicke Avenue. According to the press release, the pedestrian was crossing in a marked crosswalk when a grey sedan turning left struck them and drove away.
The victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. They are expected to recover.
Investigators have released dash cam video of the collision and are seeking additional footage or witnesses who may have information about the incident.
“We are releasing dash cam video of the incident in hopes that further witnesses with critical information will come forward,” said Corporal Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. “We are also asking the driver to do the right thing and come forward—it will help investigators gain a clearer understanding of what occurred.”
