Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for North Shore. Strong winds that may cause damage are expected or occurring.
A strong Pacific storm will bring strong winds to southern sections of Howe Sound including Bowen Island, and to West Vancouver near the Strait of Georgia late this afternoon and early this evening.
Strong southeasterly winds of 70 gusting 90 km/h will develop later this afternoon over southern sections of Howe Sound including Bowen Island, and to West Vancouver near the Strait of Georgia including Point Atkinson.
The winds will ease late this evening, but will remain brisk into Saturday morning.
Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break.
Wind warnings are issued when there is a significant risk of damaging winds.
