A winter storm warning is in effect for Coquihalla Highway. Hazardous winter conditions are expected from Hope to Merritt.
An additional 10 to 20 cm is expected by Sunday afternoon.
“An unstable airmass moving into southern B.C. will continue to bring steady snow tonight. A further 10 cm is expected tonight and another 5 to 10 cm is possible by Sunday afternoon before the snow tapers off to flurries in the evening,” says Environment Canada.
Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult, and visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.
