Raglan’s Bistro in North Vancouver was packed on Thursday evening as a group of young residents hosted a grassroots event to support CentreBC and build momentum for the party on the North Shore. The gathering drew supporters and community members interested in the centrist political movement.
Speakers included City of North Vancouver Councillor Tony Valente, Liam Olsen, president of the Young Liberals of Canada, and former West Vancouver–Capilano MLA Karin Kirkpatrick. Each shared perspectives on why a balanced, solutions-oriented approach to provincial politics is important.
The event highlighted CentreBC’s growing reach. Organizers said the party has seen strong membership growth on the North Shore, Vancouver Island, and in the Okanagan. CentreBC now has members in 70 of B.C.’s 93 ridings, a milestone that was marked with celebration at the event.
“It’s just nice to have a choice and not be forced to one side or the other,” said new member Karen Fraser.
For many attendees, the evening was both a social gathering and an opportunity to explore new ideas about provincial politics. Organizers described it as “building community, not just a campaign.”
