A 13-year-old driver has been charged under the Motor Vehicle Act with Speeding, Drive Without Due Care, Fail to Remain at the Scene of a Collision, and Driving with No Drivers License, after a single vehicle accident on Trans Canada Highway in West Vancouver.
The incident occurred on March 25, 2024, at approximately 11:00 p.m. When the West Vancouver Police arrived at the scene, they found a Lamborghini Huracan in a ditch with no one inside.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the youth and a friend had taken the car for a joyride but could not control the car in the dark and rainy conditions, resulting in significant property damage. No injuries were reported.
“Officers began an exhaustive search to ensure the well-being of the driver and any passengers. With the cooperation of the vehicle owner, we were able to promptly locate and interview occupants of the car who were uninjured,” said Sergeant Chris Bigland.
