Divers for Cleaner Lakes & Oceans pulled out 347.9 kilogram of trash in the waters around Goldsworthy Pier in North Vancouver.

As many as 13 shopping carts, 16 crab traps, one dolley and tires, bottles, and many more items were removed by the organisation.

The Divers for Cleaner Lakes and Oceans is an organization of volunteer divers that performs clean up dives on a regular basis in Metro Vancouver and beyond.

“We hope that by removing the often unseen and ignored garbage that is underwater in our waterways, we can pass on a cleaner and healthier environment to our next generation. We appreciate your support and contributions,” the organisation says.

Last week, the group also removed 154 pounds of trash from Fishermen’s Pier at Ambleside Beach in West Vancouver.

“We hope that by removing the often unseen and ignored garbage that is underwater in our waterways, we can pass on a cleaner and healthier environment to our next generation,” says team leader, Henry Wang.

Scuba divers and volunteers who are interested can contact Wang here.
