Paving work on Mountain Highway is set to begin Monday, July 13, closing a stretch of the road for roughly 2.5 weeks and triggering a full detour along Arborlynn Drive and East 20th Street.

According to the advisory, crews will pave Mountain Highway between East 20th Street/Kirkstone Road and East 18th Street starting today, with the project expected to take approximately 2.5 weeks to complete, weather permitting.

A 24-hour northbound detour along Arborlynn Drive/East 20th Street will be in effect for the duration of the project, though emergency vehicles will still be given access during emergency situations.

Vehicle parking on the north side of the East 20th Street detour will be removed to make room for buses, the advisory noted. Drivers are asked to follow all traffic control personnel and allow extra travel time when planning trips through the area.
