Several paving and roadwork projects will affect traffic across the District of North Vancouver, with lane closures, detours, and overnight work scheduled in several areas.

According to the advisory issued by the District of North Vancouver, paving work on Capilano Road at Marine Drive began August 19 and will continue until approximately September 3. Work will take place nightly from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., except Saturdays.

Road reconstruction on Mountain Highway between Main Street and Oxford Street will result in detours, lane closures, and delays from 7 p.m. on August 20 through August 22. According to the news release, motorists should expect reduced lanes and single-lane alternating traffic.

Paving work on W. 1st Street between Pemberton Avenue and Lloyd Avenue began August 20 at 5 p.m., with lane closures expected until later that evening. Starting at approximately 8 p.m., W. 1st Street between Pemberton and Philip Avenue will be fully closed, with flaggers at the intersections. The road is expected to reopen in the early morning hours.

Meanwhile, paving at Marine Drive and Lloyd Avenue is scheduled for August 21 from approximately 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and August 24 from approximately 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bridge deck repairs on the Dollarton eastbound on-ramp to the Iron Workers Memorial Bridge are scheduled from August 17 through September 4, with nightly on-ramp closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Drivers are advised to follow the directions of traffic control personnel and allow extra travel time through affected areas.
