Alert: North Shore roadwork to cause traffic delays

Staff report
June 2, 2025 5:45pm

Drivers on the North Shore can expect delays over the coming weeks as crews undertake roadwork in multiple areas, including West Vancouver and North Vancouver.

In West Vancouver, industrial traffic on Cypress Bowl Road may slow or block regular traffic between Uplands Way and Cypress Place. The westbound right lane will be closed on weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional full road closures lasting up to 30 seconds. The disruption is expected to continue until Friday, August 29. Traffic control personnel will be on site, and drivers are advised to proceed with caution.

In North Vancouver, utility work is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3, along Main Street between Mountain Highway and Phibbs Exchange. The work will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will close the right turn lane and centre lane in both directions. Motorists should watch for signage and traffic personnel directing vehicles through the construction zone.

Paving work is also underway on East Braemar Road, between St. Georges Avenue and St. Andrews Avenue. Crews began work on May 26, with the project expected to take about two weeks to complete, depending on weather. Work hours are 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Commuters are encouraged to allow extra time, use alternate routes where possible, and remain patient as crews complete necessary upgrades to local infrastructure.
