Alert: Parts of Marine Drive closed tomorrow

Marine Drive will be closed between Fell Avenue and Bewicke Avenue from 7 pm Friday, February 19 to 3 pm Saturday, February 20.

All traffic will be required to use an alternate route.

Full closure 7pm Friday, February 19th to 3 pm Saturday, February 20th.

Opening to 1 lane in each direction by at 3 pm Saturday

Opening to 2 lanes eastbound, 1 lane westbound by 10 am Sunday

Pedestrians and cyclists can still use the southern sidewalk of Marine Drive to cross Mosquito Creek. Access to businesses on Marine Drive will be facilitated from Bewicke Ave.

Detours will be in place with traffic controllers on site.

    People approving road projects ought to recognize the potential for damage to nearby small enterprises when construction takes extended periods to complete. As an example, the proprietor of North Vancouver Laptops has been affected by Mosquito Creek bridge builders who have been regularly blocking the usual access to his business. Other businesses suffer similarly but I suspect that compensation is not provided for in project budgets.
