The District of West Vancouver anticipates that 90 minutes of free parking will be available at Ambleside Park beginning Tuesday, July 7, 2026.
According to the news release, the start date reflects the time needed to complete council’s final approval of required bylaw amendments, and for the operator to install new signage and test the free parking option.

To receive the free period, visitors must start a PayByPhone session and enter their licence plate. A session can be started through the PayByPhone app, on the website at paybyphone.com, or by calling 604-909-7275. Each licence plate is eligible for one free 90-minute session per day. Visitors who do not start a session will be charged regular parking rates.
Those wishing to stay beyond 90 minutes will be charged $2.50 per hour for the remaining time. Additional time can be purchased through the hangTag or PayByPhone mobile apps, or at a physical pay station.
According to the news release, West Vancouver residents are eligible for a free annual parking pass. Residents holding a valid parks parking pass do not need to register for the 90-minute free period.
