Vancouver Police have arrested a 35-year-old man after Crown counsel approved a second-degree murder charge in connection with a fatal stabbing on Granville Street last year.
According to the news release by VPD, James Christopher Holmgren was arrested Wednesday by Vancouver Police Homicide Unit detectives. He remains in custody.
Police were called to the area of Granville Street and Helmcken Street at about 3:15 p.m. on November 17, 2025, following reports of a man suffering from a stab wound.
According to the news release, the victim, Aymen Al-Hafidh, was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. He was 20 years old at the time of his death.
