Ambleside’s first cannabis store, Avenue, is now open to the public. It’s one of the two cannabis stores that have been approved by the District of West Vancouver.

Avenue, located at 1453 Bellevue Avenue, is open seven days a week from 10 am to 10 pm, and offers online shopping, curbside pick-up, and recycling of used cannabis packaging. Avenue brings creative, purpose-driven products and experiences with a focus on health, wellness, and education, the owners say.

Situated on Bellevue Avenue, the premier shopping street of Ambleside, Avenue offers a high-end shopping experience. Designed by award winning designer Juli Hodgson, the 1200 square foot space is west coast inspired and well-appointed. There are clearly marked areas which focus on the different aspects cannabis products offer – relief, pain, energize – as well edibles, beverages, books, and accessories.

Avenue was co-founded by Tim Webb and Shannon Walker, after a conversation with a family friend in June 2020.

“The past two years have been stressful and exhausting, but also educational and inspiring. It’s no easy task to be approved for a license and then to go through the process with the District for a temporary use permit.  It’s been a long road, but we wanted to be sure to deliver on our vision of creating an elegant, curated experience that enhances the retail mix on Bellevue. It’s our first time opening a retail cannabis business and we’ve learned a lot and are very excited to offer this beautiful store to residents and visitors.”, says Tim Webb. “We have hired experienced staff, have ensured they are knowledgeable on all aspects of cannabis so they can share that information with our clients and educate those that might have questions or concerns. We want this to be a pleasant and enjoyable retail experience for customers that shop in store or online.”

Avenue will hold its Grand Opening on Saturday, November 12, from 1 pm to 4 pm. West Vancouver Mayor Mark Sager will be on site to cut the ribbon at 1:30 pm and there will be refreshments served in the lobby of the Walker Building at 1455 Bellevue Avenue.
