Watermain installation work has restarted along Bewicke Avenue in the City of North Vancouver and is expected to continue until late October, bringing temporary road closures, traffic diversions and delays.

According to the news release by the City of North Vancouver, the project between 1400 and 1600 Bewicke Ave. will install more than 500 metres of new watermain for the City, with the work intended to improve drinking water quality for residents and fire flow to Westview School.

Traffic impacts will include phased road closures, traffic diversions, single-lane alternating traffic and parking restrictions. Bus stop closures are also expected, with motorists and transit users advised to expect delays throughout construction.

Detours will be in place, and road users are asked to follow posted signage. According to the news release, construction hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
