Anna Boltenko has announced her candidacy for North Vancouver City Council, marking her third consecutive campaign for a seat at City Hall.
According to the news release by Boltenko, she has lived in North Vancouver for more than 13 years and is a community leader, career consultant, leadership coach, and educator. She is also co-founder of the Wonder Wonders Foundation, the non-profit organization behind the North Shore Kids Festival.
Boltenko holds a master’s degree in Government and Municipal Management. She previously served as a member and chair of the City’s Social Planning Advisory Committee and currently sits on the Advisory Planning Commission.
“I am running for the third time because I continue to believe deeply in North Vancouver—and in what our city can become with thoughtful, accountable and people-centred leadership,” Boltenko said in the release.
Her campaign is focused on four priorities: growth supported by infrastructure, transparent and accountable decision-making, a city that works for residents, and environmental responsibility.
According to the news release, Boltenko’s community work has included educational programs, youth initiatives and the North Shore Kids Festival, with a focus on supporting children and young people, building skills and self-esteem, and expanding access to family-focused services and programs.
“Children and young people should not simply grow up in our city—they should feel seen, heard and supported by it,” she said.
Boltenko is also campaigning on support for independent businesses and community organizations. She said the City should make it easier for local entrepreneurs, non-profits and neighbourhood initiatives to succeed.
“North Vancouver does not need more promises without follow-through,” Boltenko said. “It needs thoughtful growth, transparent leadership and decisions grounded in the everyday realities of the people who live and work here.”
