Daina Boyd has announced her candidacy for councillor with the District of North Vancouver, according to a news release by Boyd.

A longtime District of North Vancouver resident, Boyd rents her home and commutes daily by transit across the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge. According to the news release, that experience has given her firsthand understanding of challenges facing residents, including traffic congestion, the impacts of growth and development, and a shortage of attainable housing.

“These are real challenges facing our community, and they won’t be solved by one person or one council alone,” Boyd said. “Addressing them will require thoughtful collaboration, practical leadership, and partnership with all levels of government. The decisions we make today will shape the kind of community we leave for generations to come.”

Boyd brings more than 30 years of experience in the public and private sectors, which she says has helped her build collaborative relationships across the community. According to the news release, she is particularly focused on affordable housing, homelessness, traffic congestion, and ensuring the pace of development matches community needs and priorities.

“If elected, I will work tirelessly on your behalf,” Boyd said. “I encourage everyone to vote on October 17 and to choose a candidate who understands and shares your concerns.”

More information on Boyd’s candidacy is available at www.dainaboyd.ca.
