Sundews, Venus Flytraps and Pitcher Plants will be available for the public to purchase Thursday, August 11 to Saturday August 13 at #217, 1233 Lynn Valley Road, Library Square above the VanCity bank. Early Bird special sales will be held during set up on Thursday August 11th from 3 through 5 pm.

Regular sales will be All Day Friday and Saturday from 10 AM through 5 PM. Prices range from $5 to $50 and can be paid by cash or cheque only, no credit or debit card payments. All proceeds from the sale will support Backpack Buddies, the BC food security program for children.

“We are a loosely organized social group of women friends who gather seasonally,” says organizer Louise Manelia. “The starter plants are supplied by Regina Salomon who started them in her prior business, Urban Bog, and she has maintained many of the plants as a hobby. Our group decided instead of just being social we could do something helpful, and one member suggested Backpack Buddies. In the past we made contributions to an organization that granted small loans to third world women.”

North Vancouver- Seymour MLA Susie Chant’s Community Office at #217, 1233 Lynn Valley Road, Library Square, is sponsoring this charitable endeavor by providing space for the sale.

For more information phone Louise Manelia at 604-722-4352.
