With continuing hot weather and dry conditions, charcoal barbecues are banned in parks and beaches in the District of West Vancouver until further notice.
Propane barbecues are still permitted, with the exception of Lighthouse Park.
Open fires, including beach fires, and smoking in parks and beaches, and barbecues in Lighthouse Park are never allowed in West Vancouver.
For the safety of the community and forested areas, residents are asked to be vigilant while enjoying our parks.
Please call 604-543-6700 to report any unsafe fire activities. To report active fire, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
“Cigarette butts tossed from vehicles are one of the greatest risks for starting a wildfire. Please do your part and dispose of all smoking materials safely,” says the District of West Vancouver.
A reminder that the province has banned campfires and outdoor burning in our region.
