City of North Vancouver is spending approximately $1 million on office renovations at the city hall.
The money will be used to fund Phase 3 of the City Hall renovations, which include renovating office space located on the second level of the West wing of City Hall.
City departments of Engineering, Parks and Environment, a portion of Community Development and Facilities and Real Estate presently work at the locations that will be renovated.
These proposed renovations will densify the work areas and create optimal space to accommodate the increase in staff. Interior finishes will be replaced, data upgraded while electrical runs and existing lighting revised to energy efficient LED lighting.
These renovations will also accommodate staff in new flexible ‘sit-stand’ workstations, which are considered to be industry best practice in workplace ergonomics, according to the CNV. Access to natural light and view will also be provided through the reduction of enclosed offices and by maintaining workstation panel heights at 48”.
Improvements to the staff washrooms as well as the creation of two sizable meeting rooms and a copy/plotter room will also form part of this final renovation. CNV has recently completed the west portion of this phase.
