The City of North Vancouver is asking residents to help shape how its parks and public spaces are planned, connected, and invested in over the coming years.

According to the press release, the city is developing a comprehensive Parks & Public Space Plan, and community input is essential to the process. The plan will examine the full system of outdoor spaces across the city — from large natural areas and neighbourhood parks to plazas, streets, trails, playgrounds, and laneways — looking at the activities they offer, how they are distributed, and how they function together as a connected system.

The plan is also expected to deliver practical tools to guide city decision-making and help prioritize investments that benefit both residents and the natural environment.

Residents can share their experiences and ideas through an online survey running from May 6 to 31 at letstalk.cnv.org/ParksPlan, where they can also sign up for project updates.

Those who prefer to engage in person can attend any of several pop-up events being held across the city this month. The remaining scheduled stops are Ray Perrault Park on May 12 from 3 to 6 p.m., Mahon Park on May 18 from 1 to 4 p.m., the CNV Operations Centre Public Works Open House on May 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Shipyards Night Market on May 29 from 3 to 6:30 p.m.
