The City of North Vancouver is accepting applications for its 2026 Children and Youth Initiatives Fund, which provides grants for community-led programs, events and projects supporting local children and youth. Applications are open until 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 25, 2026.
According to the news release by CNV, young people between 12 and 21 can apply for grants of up to $500 for ideas such as events, clubs and projects. Funding can cover expenses including space and equipment rentals, promotion, entertainment and refreshments.
Local non-profits, community groups and agencies serving children and youth can apply for up to $3,000 for youth-focused projects, programs and events. According to the news release, previous grants have supported mentorship programs, 2SLGBTQIA+ clubs, wellness resources and other initiatives.
The fund has supported initiatives since 1998 that create opportunities for local children and youth, strengthen community connections and help reduce social, economic and physical barriers to participation.
In 2025, the City awarded 14 grants to community organizers and groups. According to the news release, funded initiatives included Carson Graham Secondary’s community gardens, School District 44’s Queer Prom and Pride Month celebrations, an Indigenous canoe-building program and a school-wide weaving project initiated by Boundary Elementary.
Organizations applying for funding must be registered non-profits with a B.C. Society Number and/or Charitable Registration Number, serve residents of the City of North Vancouver, pursue additional funding sources, and provide proof of financial responsibility, including their latest financial statement.
