The City of North Vancouver is developing a Climate and Environment Strategy and the community is being invited to take part in an online survey at letstalk.cnv.org/environment before November 26, 2021 to provide feedback.

City staff will also be engaging with community stakeholders including committees, organizations, partners, and other groups to gather detailed feedback specific to their areas of interest.

Residents are invited to participate in the engagement process in the following ways:

Complete the survey before November 26 at 4 pm at letstalk.cnv.org/environment; and

Visit a pop-up event to learn more and provide input:

October 27, 10am – 12pm, at the North Vancouver City Library

November 3, 10:30am – 1:30pm at North Shore Neighbourhood House

November 4, 3pm – 5pm at the North Vancouver City Library

November 9, 9:30am – 12:30pm at John Braithwaite Community Centre

November 24, 9:30am – 12:30pm at John Braithwaite Community Centre

This is the first phase of community engagement on the CES, and feedback will be used to refine the strategies and goals that will inform the development of the overall draft Strategy, CNV says.

The draft will be presented early next year.

“The effects of climate change are becoming increasingly clear to all of us as we experience more adverse weather events,” said Mayor Linda Buchanan.

“These challenges require all levels of government to redouble their efforts in building a low carbon and sustainable future. The City of North Vancouver is recognized as a leader in innovative and progressive climate policy and programs. The Climate and Environment Strategy will incorporate new and existing policies to act as the City’s roadmap as we plan for a greener future. I encourage all residents to share their ideas.”
