The City of North Vancouver’s is seeking volunteers for its signature summer event on Lonsdale Avenue this July.

The 1,000 foot long water slide is the main attraction of the Fun City Festival. The event runs Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14, from 10 am to 6 pm. The city needs volunteers aged 13 and above for registrations, tickets, pump stations and the slide. If you are interested in volunteering, send the city an email at lstirling@cnv.org.

The Fun City Festival is expected to draw thousands from across the region, the city said in a media release.

A variety of food trucks, ticket booth and bag check will be located in Victoria Park. North Shore Neighbourhood House will offer ticket sales, a bag check, change rooms and free shuttle to and from the top of the water slide, from their location at 225 East 2nd Avenue.

Parking for the event will be limited. CNV recommends biking, walking or taking transit.

On Saturday, July 13, the City is also hosting another popular event. The free concert series ‘Summer Sessions’ will take place at The Shipyards from 5 pm to 10 pm.

There will be live music on the main stage featuring the ‘The Fab Fourever’. There’ll be a beverage garden, food trucks and local vendors.

Tickets for ‘Fun City Festival’ are on sale now and available at www.funcitysliders.com
