A Kids Bike Rodeo will be among the day’s offerings, featuring an obstacle course led by volunteers from the North Shore Safety Council. The course is designed to teach children road rules and how to navigate obstacles safely.
Local bike shops will also be on site, showcasing the latest in traditional bikes, e-bikes, e-cargo bikes, and accessories for both adults and children. For those interested in electric options, EVOLVE and HUB Cycling will be offering free e-bike and e-cargo bike test rides. Representatives from the city’s E-Cargo Bike Program will have several models on display and will be available to answer questions.
HUB Cycling North Shore will be kicking off Go by Bike Week at the event, offering basic tune-ups, snacks, and cycling information, according to the social media post.
North Vancouver RCMP Community Policing will also have a presence at the festival, sharing best practices for reducing bike theft, promoting traffic safety, and providing information on registering bicycles through Project 529 Garage.
Entertainment will be provided by Shadowfax, a Vancouver-based alternative folk band. According to the social media post, Jeremy and Dave of Shadowfax draw from mythology and folk tales, with instrumentation that includes pedal steel, banjo, trumpet, trombone, and theremin.
