Cons. Kelly McIntyre becomes Media Relations Officer of North Van RCMP

October 29, 2021 12:17pm

North Vancouver RCMP is pleased to introduce Constable Kelly McIntyre as the new Media Relations Officer for the Detachment.

A valued RCMP officer for nine years, Cst. McIntyre spent two years on General Duty in Williams Lake before being transferred to North Vancouver in 2014. Since her arrival in North Vancouver, Cst. McIntyre has spent time in General Duty and in the Mental Health Unit.

Cons. Kelly McIntyre, Media Relations Officer, North Vancouver RCMP.

“I’m excited to take on this new role,” said Cst. McIntyre. “North Vancouver is a great place with wonderful people, and I undertake to serve as an effective conduit of information between the police and our community and to promote understanding.”

Cst. McIntyre is a proud Maritimer and lives on the North Shore with her family. They enjoy spending as much time as possible exploring the incredible landscape that British Columbia is celebrated for.

Prior to joining the RCMP, Cst. McIntyre worked as a Legal Aid Criminal Defense Attorney in Toronto and as a Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney in New York City. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) degree from Mount Allison University (New Brunswick), a Juris Doctor Degree from the Cardozo School of Law (New York City), and is called to the bar in Ontario and the State of New York. Cst. McIntyre also holds a Certificate in Critical Incident Stress Management from the Justice Institute of British Columbia.

Constable McIntyre replaces Sgt. Peter DeVries, who has been in the role since 2018.
