COVID-19 alert for Edgemont grocery store

Staff report
May 31, 2021 1:47pm

Sobeys has issued a notification for an employee testing positive for COVID-19 at Thrifty Foods at 310 Edgemont Blvd. in North Vancouver.

The alert was issued on May 28.

The company had also issued a similar alert for an employee positive for COVID at the same store on Oct. 21

Sobeys says it will always follow the guidance of Public Health to support workers impacted by COVID-19.

“We will continue to update the COVID-19 tracker to be transparent with you where we have been notified of cases of COVID-19 in our stores,” Sobeys says.

“Out of respect for our teammates and their confidentiality, we will never release any personal information about our people. We will always do everything we can to support our teammates and ensure their safety.”

    Thank you for the
Thrifty store notification. This is important info to consider when shopping. Is it possible to get other stores
outbreaks as well. Not all of us shop at thrifty stores. Outbreak news at Save on stores would be helpful.

Certainly appreciate your notification which reminds us that each of us is responsible to maintain social distancing and hygienic practices that reduce the transmission of the COVID-19 virus. So when shopping, use your mask, hand sanitizers, or disposable gloves, and practice social distancing. Protect the people who work at our stores to make our food available to us each and every day.
