COVID-19 alert for North Vancouver grocery store

Staff report
March 18, 2021 11:07am

Sobeys has issued a notification for an employee testing positive for COVID-19 at Thrifty Foods at 310 Edgemont Blvd. in North Vancouver.

The alert was issued today. The last day the employee worked there was March 12. The last time Sobeys had issued a similar alert for the Edgemont store was in February.

Sobeys and Loblaws are two major grocery chains that regularly post COVID-19 updates for stores across the country.

Last Friday, March 12, Loblaws had announced that several employees at the Real Canadian Superstore at 333 Seymour Blvd had tested positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the same day, Loblaws announced that an employee had tested positive at the Shoppers Drug Mart at 3650 Mt Seymour Parkway in North Vancouver.

Sobeys says it will always follow the guidance of Public Health to support workers impacted by COVID-19.

“We will continue to update the COVID-19 tracker to be transparent with you where we have been notified of cases of COVID-19 in our stores,” Sobeys says.

“Out of respect for our teammates and their confidentiality, we will never release any personal information about our people. We will always do everything we can to support our teammates and ensure their safety.”
