Seven people lost their lives in the COVID-19 outbreak at Lions Gate Hospital.
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) has declared the COVID-19 outbreak at Lions Gate Hospital (LGH) 4th floor over. There is no longer an outbreak at this site and the unit is now open to admissions and transfers.
A total of 36 people, including five staff, tested positive for COVID-19 during the outbreak. Seven patients passed away in this outbreak.
“We share our heartfelt condolences with the families, friends and loved ones impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak at LGH,” VCH said.
All acute care facilities including LGH are restricted to essential visits, which includes visitors providing compassionate care, physical care and mental well-being.
We will continue to take every precaution to protect our staff and patients, VCH said.
A COVID-19 outbreak has been declared on the third floor of Richmond Lions Manor-Bridgeport after two patients and two staff tested positive for COVID-19.
The home is closed to new admissions and transfers at this time and all group activities have been suspended. Visits to the third floor of Richmond Lions Manor-Bridgeport have been suspended until the outbreak measures have been lifted; the exception being for essential care or compassionate visits at the end of life.
