Cyclist injured in serious crash at W1st and MacKay: North Vancouver RCMP

Gagandeep Ghuman
June 29, 2026 9:58am

North Vancouver RCMP are on scene at West 1st Street and MacKay Avenue, investigating a serious motor vehicle incident involving a cyclist.

Police say road closures are currently in effect in the area, and they’re asking the public to avoid the area while the investigation continues. No estimated reopening time has been given.

This is a developing story.

Looks like she ran a red while cycling. Alot of people witnessed this and it’s recorded . This is a very busy road used by all size vehicles and the creation of cycling lanes perhaps gives riders a false sense of security.

Cyclist went through a red light. Eye witnesses to this and it is recorded. It is a very busy road with both recreational and industrial vehicles at any given time. The creation of bike lanes alongside roadways seems to have created a false sense of safety in general.

Another accident at a “safety improved” intersection. No coincidence at all if you have any intelligence.
