Cypress ski hill opens today

Operations will be limited in the opening week
Staff report
November 19, 2021 9:54am

Cypress Mountain will be open to skiing this Friday, November 19 at 9 am, though operations will be limited in the opening week.

Cypress said it will have a Downhill Skiing and Snowboarding on Easy Rider Quad Chair, Friday, Saturday & Sunday from 9 am to 4 pm.

There will also be a few extra terrain park features. The Rental Shop and Big Bear Sports, and the Gold Medal Café will also be open.

In the Nordic Area, there isn’t enough snow to open the Cross Country Ski or Snowshoe trails but there will be Snow Tubing at Gnarly’s Tube Park on Saturday and Sunday for 10 am, 12 pm, and 2 pm sessions.

Tickets are limited and can be booked online.

Cypress said they will continue working to open more terrain with more snow. Cypress Mountain will post updates on social media on terrain that will be open next week and what tickets will be on sale.

People are being asked to pre-book tickets online and new “Ticket Pickup Boxes” have been installed at the mountain.

Guests 12 and over will be required to show proof of double vaccination to visit licensed food and beverage outlets (Cypress Creek Grill, Crazy Raven Bar, and Hollyburn Lodge).

Guests 19 and over will also need to show a government issued photo ID.

“We still recommend all visitors wear face coverings while congregating, in lift lines and while riding on the chairlift.  Cypress Mountain has worked with the Provincial Ski Industry, Health Authorities to rollout best practices to protect the health and safety of our employees and guests for the upcoming season,” Cypress Mountain said.
