A Class 7 driver who had volunteered to be a designated driver was slapped with a 90-day driving prohibition after failing two roadside sobriety tests this past weekend, according to North Vancouver RCMP.

According to a post on X, the driver was pulled over for erratic driving on Lonsdale Avenue. The driver then failed two approved screening device (ASD) tests, prompting police to impound the vehicle and issue the driving prohibition.

The social media post noted that the incident serves as a reminder that designated drivers are expected to remain sober throughout the outing.
