North Vancouver residents who wish to vote by mail in the upcoming General Local Election have until September 23, 2026, to apply, according to the news release by the District of North Vancouver.
Mail-in voting is available to non-resident property electors, seasonal residents, people in geographically remote locations, and people whose mobility or health is compromised. To receive a mail ballot package, electors must submit a mail ballot request form to the Chief Election Officer before September 23, 2026.
Once an application is successfully processed, a mail ballot package will be sent out as soon as ballots are available, the release states. Applications submitted after September 23 may not leave enough time for a package to be mailed and returned. For those short on time, the release recommends picking up the mail ballot package in person from District Hall.
Completed mail ballots can be returned by mail or dropped into the mail slot at the front door of District Hall. According to the news release, mail ballots cannot be dropped off at any other voting location on General Voting Day or during advance voting days.
Completed mail ballot request forms can be submitted by email to elections@dnv.org, in person by depositing them in the mail slot at District Municipal Hall, 355 West Queens Road, North Vancouver, or by mail to the Chief Election Officer at the same address.
If a property has other owners, a consent form signed by a majority of the other owners must also be provided, and inquiries can be directed to elections@dnv.org, the release notes.
To be counted, completed mail ballots must be received by the Chief Election Officer at District Municipal Hall no later than the close of voting on General Voting Day, ending at 8pm on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
