A West Vancouver police officer was able to find a dog that had fallen into the Capilano River.
The dog named Pink was reported by the owners to have fallen into the Capilano River this weekend.
The owners had called the police to say the dog had been swept downstream.
“Luckily, an officer found her on a nearby roadway. One lucky pooch,” West Vancouver police said in a tweet.
Most dogs have a tendency to jump into the water without hesitation, and it is a good idea teach your pet to wait before leaping into water, says BC SPCA.
“Whether you’re on land or sea, one of the best things you can do for your pet’s safety is to learn first aid training. Consult local organizations like the Red Cross for classes and workshops,” BC SPCA says.
