A Lynn Valley woman failed two roadside breath tests and allegedly struck a police officer in the chest during a traffic stop last night, according to the North Vancouver RCMP news release.
North Vancouver RCMP officers pulled over the female driver after observing erratic driving behaviour. During the investigation, officers suspected alcohol impairment and administered an approved screening device test, which she failed twice. She was issued a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition, and her vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

While officers were serving the paperwork, the driver struck one of them in the chest, according to the news release.
Police are using the incident to remind the public to plan for a safe ride home while celebrating the ongoing world soccer tournament.
“As you celebrate the world soccer tournament, please do so responsibly and make a plan for a safe ride home before heading out,” the news release states.
