West Vancouver Police have arrested an impaired motorcyclist who had escaped the police in Whistler and Squamish.
The incident took place on Monday, October 3, when the Whistler RCMP called the Squamish RCMP to help with two motorcyclists in Whistler who were driving over the speed limit and swerving in and out of vehicles.
Squamish officers set up a check point on Highway 99 and tried to stop the motorcyclist, but they did not stop immediately. The first motorcyclist swerved around a police officer which caused the officer to tumble.
The second rider of the motorcycle surrendered and was arrested for dangerous operation, flight from police, and impaired operation. The rider was released once sober and has a future court date.
The first rider of the motorcycle escaped but was later arrested by West Vancouver Police.
