‘Extremely confrontational’ West Van resident issued $2,630 COVID fine

Staff report
April 19, 2021 5:43pm

West Vancouver police issued a hefty fine to a woman in the British Properties neighbourhood for hosting a party.

On Sunday at 11 pm, officers were tipped off by an anonymous person, of a gathering at a household in the 300 blk. of Southborough Drive in the district’s British Properties.

When officers attended, they heard loud music and saw 10-15 people inside the home who were not wearing masks, and were drinking and dancing.

When the occupants noticed police, they turned off the music and scattered inside.

They refused to answer the door.

Officers quickly encountered an extremely confrontational and intoxicated 46-year-old woman, who was later identified as a resident.

After a lengthy attempt to identify the woman, who was screaming and yelling at officers, she was eventually issued $2,630 in COVID-related fines for hosting a non-compliant event, as well as for abusive and belligerent behaviour.

“This is not the time to be inviting guests into your home,” says Cst. Kevin Goodmurphy.

“We will not be tolerating reckless behaviour that could jeopardize the health and safety of others.”

If anyone observes unlawful or disruptive behaviour while enjoying West Vancouver parks, they are asked to contact WVPD at 604-925-7300. Call 9-1-1 in an emergency.

That’s what you get for being rude to the cops. Oh, and for flaunting the restrictions.

So far there have been over 3 million Covid-19 deaths. The virus doesn’t care whether you live in a huge house or if you have lots of $$$$s in the bank. It spreads exponentially 2 cases become 4, then 8, then 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512 etc. and the new variants are much more contagious. As a vaccinator engaged in this struggle against the plague I despise these entitled Covididiots. The fines are minuscule and should be 5 times greater. We will soon be like Ontario where the system is overwhelmed and soon physicians will have to decide who shall live. But dying is less threatening than the 10 to 30% of the “cured” who develop long (hauler)
Covid with brain fog, inability to concentrate, arthritis, difficulty breathing for who knows how long. And this is regardless of your age!
The risk of blood clots after any vaccination are hundreds of times smaller than blood clots with Covid-19 and some in the media are guilty of encouraging vaccine hesitancy and thus the spread of this plague.
