Fern Street underpass to be demolished this month

Staff report
February 2, 2021 4:23pm

The Fern St and Keith Rd underpasses will be closed to pedestrians and cyclists in mid-February.

The data has yet to be confirmed.

The closure will take place so the Fern St underpass can be demolished and Keith Rd construction can be completed, according to an update by MOTI.

Detours will be in place.

Two years ago, MOTI announced the permanent closure of Exit 22A as part of the Lower Lynn Improvement Project to make way for the new Fern Street overpass.

The projects will ease congestion on the North Shore, MOTI says.

“The Lower Lynn Improvement Project will significantly shorten commute times and improve safety for drivers, pedestrians and cyclists on the North Shore.”
