Recycle BC has announced a temporary suspension of glass and foam packaging collection services, effective Monday, November 22.
The ongoing flooding in parts of BC has impacted Recycle BC’s ability to transfer materials to processors.
Starting Monday, November 22, Recycle BC is suspending collection of:
all glass bottles and jars from curbside collection (single-family and multi-family homes)
non-deposit glass bottles and jars and foam packaging (white and coloured) from Recycle BC depots
Residents are asked to not take these materials to a depot or set out for collection. If possible, hold on to glass and foam packaging and set out or drop off later once collection resumes.
At this time, Recycle BC will continue to collect and receive paper, cardboard, containers, and soft plastics.
It is not known how long this change will be required. Recycle BC is responsible for residential recycling in BC. For more information, please visit Recycle BC’s website.
