Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for North Shore, as well as for other Metro Vancouver communities.
A Pacific frontal system will produce heavy rain for Metro Vancouver beginning early this evening.
Rainfall amounts in excess of 50 mm can be expected through Wednesday.
The rain will ease to a few showers by Thursday morning.
The heavy rainfall will drag freezing levels down to 200 metres tonight, and localized snowfall accumulation of 2 to 5 cm is expected over higher terrain tonight.
Freezing levels will rise on Wednesday morning.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads.
Be prepared for possible winter conditions at higher elevations.
To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
