Environment Canada has issued a rainfall warning for North Shore. An extended period of heavy rain, from 50 to 80 mm, is expected, from this evening through Monday night.
Besides North Shore, the warning is in effect for North Shore, Tricities and the western Fraser Valley north of the Fraser River.
“A storm moving across the region will result in a long period of rain beginning tonight. The rain is expected to be heaviest near the mountains,” notes the weather agency.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
