The West Vancouver Police Department says it continues to return stolen property to its rightful owners following charges against a house cleaner.
In September of this year, WVPD received a report of jewellery stolen from the home of an elderly couple. An investigation led to the arrest of a suspect, and a subsequent search warrant was executed at their residence. This search resulted in the seizure of 52 items of suspected stolen property.
On December 4, Imelda Lacanaria was charged three counts of Possession of Stolen Property over $5000. West Vancouver Police urges individuals who suspect they or their family members may have fallen victim to theft to contact police. The department’s primary objective is to facilitate the return of stolen property to its rightful owners. Presently, there are 45 stolen items in custody awaiting identification.
Anyone who believes they are missing an item of value is asked to contact WVPD at 604-925-7300. The WVPD has assured the public that they will continue their efforts to return stolen property to its owners and leave no stone unturned in their investigations.
“We take these thefts very seriously, and our department is committed to ensuring that justice is served,” said a WVPD spokesperson. “We urge anyone who may have been a victim to come forward and help us in our efforts to return stolen property to its rightful owners.
